5-day launch window rocket of North Korea

North Korea's five-day window to file for a rocket opened Thursday without confirmed firing, but Parts of asia remained on alert as Washington rallied world opinion up against the communist state.

The morning timeframe by which North Korea intends to launch its 30-metre (100-foot) rocket came and opted for no symbol of liftoff from a newly built space target the country's northwestern Yellow Sea coast.

Nevertheless the North says the Unha-3 (Galaxy-3) rocket, ostensibly carrying a satellite payload, may go up every day between now and Monday to coincide with Sunday's centenary from the birth of the founding leader Kim Il-Sung.
North Korea is currently led with a third generation from the Kim dynasty within the youthful kind of Kim Jong-Un, who may have been awarded numerous titles including on Wednesday chairman with the all-powerful Central Military Commission.
Fighter jets were heard roaring across Pyongyang's overcast skies early Thursday because the showcase capital moved up preparations for mass festivities on Sunday to mark the 100th anniversary.

North Korea says its rocket launch isn't a banned missile make sure that it has every to send the satellite up, since it promotes the untested leadership of Jong-Un, who succeeded his late father Kim Jong-Il in December.

Lee Yun-Keol, a high-ranking North Korean defector who now heads a think-tank in Seoul, told AFP he had obtained Kim Jong-Il's last will and testament, which urged their state to develop weapons of mass destruction.

Excerpts with the will were authored by Japanese weekly magazine Shukan Bunshun depending on the document supplied by Lee, who worked for North Korea's bodyguard bureau, the organisation responsible for protecting the Kim family.
"Keep at heart that constantly developing and keeping nuclear (weapons), long-range missiles and biochemical weapons will be the way to keep peace around the Korean peninsula, rather than drop your guard," the desire purportedly said.
"We need to win the psychological war with all the United States. By taking a stand imposingly as a legitimate nuclear power, we must weaken American influence inside the Korean peninsula and work toward lifting international sanctions to organize external conditions for economic development," it added.

North Korea says it's invited between 150 and 200 foreign journalists to look at the rocket launch and also the weekend commemorations, the biggest number of overseas media ever welcomed to the reclusive state.

A big television screen may be installed with a media centre in Pyongyang, apparently to relay live footage with the rocket blasting off.
North Korea says the rocket will set a satellite in orbit for peaceful research purposes, promoting the Kim dynasty's goal for that malnourished country to achieve the rank of the "powerful and prosperous state" this coming year.
But Western critics begin to see the launch like a thinly veiled ballistic missile test, banned by Us resolutions. The usa has suspended an offer agreed in February to offer food help to North Korea.

Japanese Pm Yoshihiko Noda said his country was on full alert, while urging North Korea to demonstrate "self-restraint until the last minute".

Tiger Woods Kicks His Club Loses His Cool at the Masters

On April 10, 2005, in the 16th hole at Augusta, Ernie els crafted the best possible highlight of his career, a fragile chip shot that stuck, curled and hung to have an eternity about the lip with the hole before looking at.
Seven years later almost for the day, in the exact same hole, Woods had among his worst on-course meltdowns being a pro. Sending his tee shot wide directly into the bunker that lines saving money, Woods dropped his club in disgust, then kicked it of the tee box. With a course that frowns with an indiscretion as minor as as running, it absolutely was the equivalent of wiping onto your nose on a green jacket.
The irony from the tantrum is the fact that Woods' tee shot wasn't that bad, and that he managed to escape the outlet with just a bogey. However it was emblematic of the round that began with your promise - two birdies inside the first three holes - simply to cascade in to a cringe-worthy collection of missed putts and missed opportunities.

If Bay Hill was the Ernie els of old, inexorably grabbing after which holding charge, Friday at Augusta was the Ernie els of 2010-11, fumbling around on the familiar course and searching on each and every shot like disaster was imminent. He sent shots in to the sand, to the woods, to the crowd ... virtually everywhere but in to the hole. His body gestures was beyond rotten, all slumped shoulders and frustration ... reasonable contrast to playing partner Miguel Angel Jimenez, who strutted and wielded his club like he was get yourself ready for batting practice.

The thing that makes watching Woods this kind of frustrating experience is always that even now, all hope isn't lost. He finished the round at +3, one shot much better than his worst performance ever in the Masters, but nevertheless he's only eight strokes behind the first choice. That's a huge gap, however with two days left to try out, not an insurmountable one. Just a year ago, Woods cut seven strokes from the lead in a single day.
At Augusta, Woods has got the potential to intensify and access the old mojo, to plug into the vibe that won him four green jackets. However, he's also got the opportunity to implode, to produce a mockery of the latter days of Augusta the way in which he destroyed Atlanta Athletic Club on the PGA Championship last summer.
In any event, Tiger won't have trouble letting us understand how he feels.

135 People Buried in Avalanche No Hope to Finding Survivors

The Pakistani military on Sunday dug through snow, boulders and slush within an increasingly desperate hunt for 135 people buried within an avalanche, as hopes faded of seeing any valid survivors.
Nearly 36 hours following a wall of snow crashed right into a remote army camp up high in the mountains of Kashmir, rescuers were yet to recoup any survivors and even bodies in the Siachen Glacier, where Pakistani and Indian troops face off.
The camping ground was engulfed between 5:00am and 6:00am on Saturday -- perhaps when some were sleeping -- with a mass of snow, stones, mud and slush greater than 1,000 metres (3,300 feet) wide and 25 metres high, the military said in the statement.
About 180 military personnel and 60 civilian rescuers were braving freezing temperatures on the inhospitable site near to the de facto border with India, in area referred to as world's highest battlefield, the military said.
Experts acquainted with the glacier said there was clearly little hope of finding survivors -- the military said overnight that 135 everyone was missing from your camp, including 124 soldiers in the 6th Northern Light Infantry battalion.
"There is not any hope, there isn't any chance in any way," mountaineering expert Colonel Sher Khan told AFP.
"You can survive only inside the first 5-10 minutes," said Khan. "The casualties in avalanches occur because of pressure of heavy weight, extreme cold and not enough oxygen."
The powerful army chief General Ashfaq Kayani visited the epicentre with the disaster and "supervised rescue operations himself", the military said.
"The avalanche for these a magnitude was unprecedented in last Twenty years of this Battalion Headquarters existence at Gayari," he was quoted saying.
General Kayani instructed the commanders "to optimally utilise all available resources available and leave nothing unturned to achieve out to the entrapped personnel," it said.
"It's a massive, huge avalanche," a senior military officer told AFP, adding rescue work would take a couple of days.
Specially trained search-and-rescue groups of army engineers built with the latest locating gadgets and machinery had arrived, the military statement said, joining rescue units aided by sniffer dogs and helicopters.
"Adequate medical staff has been created available for the management of injured persons in forward field hospitals," it added.
A tailor and 2 hairdressers were on the list of civilians missing inside the thick snow inside the militarised region of Kashmir, which includes caused a couple of the three wars between India and Pakistan since their independence in 1947 from Britain.
The usa Sunday expressed its "deep concern" for that soldiers kept in the avalanche and offered assistance inside the search operations, the usa embassy said.
"We offer our condolences should you have lost their lives because of the avalanche," it said.
"The United states of america is ready to assist Pakistan searching, rescue and recovery operations."
Siachen was a flashpoint when India occupied key areas twenty six years ago, including the heights, prompting Pakistan to right away respond by deploying its forces.
The nuclear-armed rivals fought a fierce battle over Siachen later, raising fears of all-out conflict, even though guns around the glacier have largely fallen silent since a slow-moving peace process was released in 2004.
India and Pakistan have spent heavily to maintain a military presence about the glacier, where temperatures can plunge to minus 70 degrees Celsius (minus 95F).
New Delhi reportedly spends greater than 40 million rupees ($800,000) daily on its Siachen deployment -- a figure that will not include additional wages and bonuses.
Experts already have said that India has around 5,000 troops about the glacier, while Pakistan has fewer than half that number. The tough weather and altitude claim additional lives than actual fighting.
Avalanches and landslides frequently block roads and then leave communities isolated out in the wild of Pakistan, neighbouring Afghanistan as well as in Kashmir.
In February, no less than 16 Indian soldiers working in the mountains of Kashmir were killed when two avalanches swept through army camps.
President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday had become the first Pakistani head of state since 2005 to see India, for any one-day trip targeted at building goodwill.

Snake Slithered Forcing A Pilot To Make Emergency Landing

An Australian pilot was presented with the fright of his life each time a snake slithered from your dashboard with the plane he was flying, forcing him to produce an emergency landing, in accordance with airline officials.

Braden Blennerhassett was on the freight run for Air Frontier from Darwin for the remote capital of scotland - Peppimenarti in the Northern Territory on Tuesday once the reptile appeared inside the cockpit.

He earned a mayday call and landed safely back Darwin.
"My blood pressure and heartrate was a bit elevated -- it absolutely was an interesting experience," Blennerhassett told Nine News.
"As the plane was landing the snake was crawling down my leg, that has been frightening."
Air Frontier director Geoffrey Hunt said Blennerhassett handled the problem well, given Australia houses some of the most venomous snakes on the planet.
"He said, we have a snake aboard," Hunt told reporters, adding the pilot had trouble emailing the control tower.
"The snake popped its leave near the transmit button which he needed to press to speak to the tower."
Blennerhassett squeezed his small plane returning to base the place where a snake handler was organised to satisfy him.
"We currently have another chap here that is an aircraft engineer plus a snake handler and that he had a look and that he couldn't believe it is," Hunt said, adding they now planned to utilize a live mouse inside a cage as bait.

Apple Shares $98 Billion Cash Hoard

Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook, moving swiftly after taking over from the late Silicon Valley icon Steve Jobs, fulfilled a longstanding desire of investors by initiating a quarterly dividend and share buyback that will pay out $45 billion over three years.
The world's most valuable technology company will start paying its first dividends since 1995 -- a regular quarterly payout of $2.65 a share -- in July, and buy back up to $10 billion of its stock beginning in the next fiscal year.
The $10 billion annual dividend program, which Cook said will be reviewed periodically, ranks among the largest current U.S. corporate cash payouts.
But he told analysts on Monday that "making great products" remained Apple's top priority, echoing the sentiments of his former boss, who died in October after a years-long battle with cancer.
Jobs' former lieutenant has impressed Wall Street since taking the helm. He has made his mark by revealing Apple's production partners and initiating investigations into allegations of labor abuse in its supply chain, among other things.
Now, the man once hailed as an able deputy and supply chain guru is reaching out to Wall Street.
"We have used some of our cash to make great investments in our business through increased research and development, acquisitions, new retail store openings, strategic prepayments and capital expenditures in our supply chain, and building out our infrastructure," Cook said. "You'll see more of all of these in the future."
"Innovation is the most important objective at Apple and we will not lose sight of that."
When Cook was announced as CEO, many on Wall Street worried he lacked Jobs' vision for devising groundbreaking consumer electronics. But Apple's shares have gained more than 50 percent since Jobs' death and set a record above $600 last week as investors noted the assurance with which Cook has taken the reins.
Cook oversaw the rollout of the iPhone 4S last year and presided over what he said on Monday was a "record weekend" of sales for the new, 4G-enabled iPad.
But many investors are still waiting to see an Apple TV or something similar: a gadget that will transform the industry the way the iPod and iPhone did. On a conference call, one of the first questions that cropped up regarded the company's product pipeline. Cook declined to comment.
Apple shares were up 1.3 percent at $593.34 in morning trade on the Nasdaq.
FINALLY
Apple expects the share buyback program to run over three years, with the primary objective to offset the impact of employee stock options and equity grants.
Its annual dividend yield will come in around 1.8 percent. That ranks above Oracle Corp and International Business Machines Corp but falls just short of the average of around 2.4 percent for companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 index, analysts say.
"The best thing about it is that we can go back to focusing on what Apple does best," said Hudson Square Research analyst Daniel Ernst.
The company will still maintain a "war chest" for other strategic opportunities, Cook said. "These decisions will not close any doors for us."
The maker of the iPhone, iPad and iPod has $98 billion in cash and securities, equal to about $104 a share, according to ISI Group analyst Brian Marshall.
The company said it anticipated using about $45 billion of domestic cash in the first three years of its buyback and dividend programs.
Asked about Apple's substantial cash parked overseas, Chief Financial Official Peter Oppenheimer said the company had no plans to repatriate it at this time.
"The current tax laws provide a considerable economic disincentive to U.S. companies that might otherwise repatriate the substantial amount of foreign cash that they have," he said. "That's our view. And we've expressed it. "
Apple last paid a dividend in 1995, according to Thomson Reuters data. In 1996, the company posted a net loss of $816 million. "Apple is an overcapitalized company, and it's probably better to have the cash in the shareholders' pockets than in Apple's pockets," said John Strand, CEO of Copenhagen-based Strand Consulting.

Co-Founder of Advocacy Group Invisible Children and Behind Kony 2012 Video Jason Russell Arrested

Jason Russell, the filmmaker behind the mega-viral "Kony 2012" documentary, was arrested in North park on Thursday night, NBC reported, citing the Hillcrest Police Department.

Russell, 33, "was taken into custody after he is discovered masturbating in public areas, vandalizing cars and maybe under the influence of something," NBC's North park affiliate reported, citing Hillcrest Police Department spokeswoman Lt. Andra Brown.

The Hillcrest Police Department's Brown didn't immediately return two messages left Friday from Yahoo News.

The co-founder from the San Diego-based advocacy group Invisible Children was detained on San Diego's Pacific Beach "acting very strange" the NBC report said.
Russell's 30-minute documentary on Ugandan guerrilla leader Joseph Kony as well as the Lord's Resistance Army was a surprise mega viral hit, receiving over 80 million viewers since its release a week ago. But the film has additionally kicked up a backlash of criticism up against the group, which range from how Invisible Children spends its finances as to whether it go cheap with the facts to create a more compelling film in regards to a more than two-decade old Central African conflict.
But Invisible Children has additionally found many prominent defenders of their work, from people in Congress to The president, who sent 100 U.S. special forces to Uganda last fall to find Kony.

"I think that this business are getting mercilessly picked apart by way of a bunch of intellectual elites who spend their days tweeting but never trending," Cameron Hudson, former Bush White House Africa hand, told Yahoo News a week ago. "If their aim would be to raise awareness, they've got done that in spades."

Don't Re-Nig in 2012 Sticker - Anti Obama Stickers

An image purporting to demonstrate a racist, anti-Obama bumper sticker about the back of the vehicle continues to be garnering a lot of attention on Facebook previously 24 hours.

The bumper sticker reads, "Don't Re-Nig in 2012." Plus smaller print below, "Stop repeat offenders. Don't' reelect Obama!" The sticker also features a picture of the Obama campaign logo crossed out.

Several viewers have claimed the style has been digitally altered. All things considered, it seems shocking that a person would proudly display an openly racist image on the vehicle in 2012. So, will be the image authentic?
Simply speaking, yes.

Will still be unclear will be the image of the automobile has been altered by any means, but an internet site called "Stumpy's Stickers" supplies the bumper sticker available for $3. And because the Root highlights, the site also other racially insensitive items on the market as well. The urban myth debunking site Snopes says it wouldn't yet determine the origins with the photo, but additionally points out the provision of other similar t-shirts and bumper stickers.

There's even an eponymous "Dontre-nig.com" website that seems to have crashed. Visiting the page raises a "Bandwith Limit Exceeded" warning message. I checked the domain registration service site WHOIS, which listed the website as of an anonymous owner who purchased the URL from the company DomainsByProxy.com, situated in Scottsdale, Arizona. The business specializes in keeping names of Internet domain owners private.

So that as one astute Facebook reader described, the bumper sticker isn't only offensive, it's pretty dumb. In the end, if you take the very best message at its literal meaning, not to renege in 2012, means to actually re-elect President Obama.

The oldest Olympian of all time was Oscar Swahn, who competed within the 1920 Antwerp Games in the chronilogical age of 72. He earned a silver that year included in the Swedish double-shot running deer team. Swahn won someone gold medal as part of his first Olympics in 1908 on the tender chronilogical age of 60. He won a team gold 4 years later in Stockholm. Though he was defending champion inside the running deer shooting, single-shot competition, Swahn only managed fifth invest those 1912 Games. The winner would be a 32-year-old named Alfred. He was Oscar's son.

J.Lo Gets Sexy in Boxing Gear for V Magazine

If looking good is the best revenge, Jennifer Lopez — who split from husband of seven years Marc Anthony last summer — has been getting plenty of it lately. She stunned at the Oscars on Sunday in a plunging Zuhair Murad shimmering gown. Now, days later, the 42-year-old is showing off her killer bod in an unusual photo shoot for VMagazine. In the spring issue's cover photo, the "American Idol" judge dons wrist wraps, a men's groin protector ("I thought it was more graphic," J. Lo says of why she chose the male version over the female one.), tiny tee, and leather jacket, revealing her super-toned legs and muscular abs. "It did make me feel tougher," she admits of the look.
Not that Lopez — who's now dating 24-year-old dancer Casper Smart -- is looking for revenge on her ex, she insists. "I mean, we're parents and friends first," she tells the magazine. "That will be the thread that ties us together. I don't know if people expect it to be negative just because the relationship didn't work out."

And, putting her money where her mouth is, J.Lo is currently producing a Spanish-language Univision talent-search show with Anthony called "Q'Viva." Thanks to the buzz around the upcoming series, it might very well be a hit, but not all of the singer-actress' projects are. Case in point: 2010's "The Back-up Plan," in which she starred as the lead, a career woman who falls in love shortly after being artificially inseminated. The film was a huge flop.
"You're not going to hit the target or the bull's-eye every time. That's part of it," Lopez notes. "At the end of the day, I made those choices. I've been in the business now … I don't want to say how many years. You have amazing moments of recognition and success. But at this point in my life, I try to take it all with a grain of salt."
And the fact she can take the hard times (divorce, movies that bomb) with the good (her 4-year-old twins, finding new love) makes her fighting photo shoot all the more relevant.
"I can take a lot of punches and still keep going," she says. "I've been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds."

Why Danica Patrick can win the Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The odds of Trevor Bayne winning last year’s Daytona 500 were so long, there weren’t any. Bayne was such an unknown, he didn’t garner an individual line and instead was lumped together with “the field.”
Danica Patrick has never competed in a Sprint Cup race. Never. Yet she’s already one step ahead of where Bayne was a year ago. She’s got a 60-1 chance to win Sunday’s Great American Race, according to online sports book Bovada.
So it’s become with the Daytona 500, the biggest crapshoot in sports.
Few outside the NASCAR world had ever heard of Bayne before he won last year’s Daytona 500 as a 20-year-old rookie. And most haven’t heard of him since, mainly because he didn’t crack the top 10 again in 2011.
While the Daytona 500 stands as NASCAR’s most prestigious race, it’s also its most unpredictable. With the engines of all 43 cars governored to run virtually the same horsepower, winning isn’t just about skill, but luck as well. It’s an ebb-and-flow event with just about everyone taking their turn at the front. Just last year, the 208-lap race featured 74 lead changes and 22 different leaders.

In laymen’s terms, the Daytona 500 has become a high-speed game of musical chairs, with the winner being the one who happens to be in front when the music stops. Which is why when Tony Stewart was asked about Patrick’s chances of winning the race, he shot back, “Did anybody think Trevor Bayne could win the race last year on this day?
“Anything can happen,” he continued. “Here, it is anybody’s ballgame. She did a really good job in July last year in the Nationwide race when I ran with her. I was really impressed at how smooth she was and how good a job she did in the two-car deal. Talent, there is no doubt in my mind she has the talent to do it.”
Ryan Newman, the 2008 Daytona 500 winner, puts everyone’s odds at 1 in 43 – landing on 43 because that’s how many cars will start the race – and he’ll take them.
“That is still pretty good when it comes to winning a $5-million dollar lottery,” he said.
Though they aren’t bad odds, 1 in 43 are actually the longest odds the top-tier drivers face all season. The following week in Phoenix, the number of drivers with a shot at winning will be fewer than 20. So if you’re Jimmie Johnson, Stewart or even Newman – drivers who benefit from top-notch equipment – you have a much better chance of winning a week from Sunday than you do this one.
Conversely, if you’re Bayne or David Gilliland or Danica Patrick – drivers with either little experience or mediocre equipment – you won’t do better than 1 in 43.
“Take nothing against Trevor. I mean, he did what he had to do to win the race,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. said. “He made some great moves and won that race on his own. He was very smart about how he drove his car. [But] you just don’t know who is going to come off of Turn 4 battling for this thing anymore.”
Since NASCAR implemented the use of restrictor plates to govern horsepower in 1988 – a move taken to limit speed, keep the cars on the ground and increase safety – there have been 18 different winners in 24 races. Over the last 10 years, there have been 10 different winners and there hasn’t been a back-to-back winner since 1994-95.
Derrike CopeWard Burton and Michael Waltrip have a combined win total of 11. Four of those are Daytona 500 victories.
Stewart and Mark Martin have 84 wins between them. Neither has ever won the Daytona 500.
And famously, Dale Earnhardt Sr. needed 20 tries before he finally won a 500. That’s 19 more than Bayne, who won it in just his second career Cup start.
“I feel good, I really feel good,” Patrick said Thursday after a wreck on the final lap of the Duel 150 qualifying race sent her careening into a wall at nearly 200 mph. “I feel comfortable. I feel confident. I feel like if things fall our way and I can take the experience from today into Sunday, I think it can be a good day.”
