Neil Armstrong- died on saturday aged 82 following complications resulting to cardiovascular procedures. Astronaut Neil Armstrong was the very first man to walk on the moon. he was the commander of the Apollo 11 Spacecraft that landed on the moon in july 20,1969. Upon taking his first step to the moon, he said "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

Armstrong and fellow astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin spent nearly three hours walking around the moon surface, collecting samples, conducting experiments and taking photographs. from 1969 - 1972,there are 12 americans who walked on the moon.

Armstrong was Aug. 5, 1930, on the farm in Ohio. He took his first airplane ride at the age of 6 and created an adoration for aviation that prompted him to develop model airplanes and conduct experiments in the homemade wind tunnel.he work in a pharmacy and took flying lessons. He was licensed to fly at 16, before he got his driver's license. Armstrong studied in purdue university taking aeronautical engineering and after he finished his degree,he later earned a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the university of southern california. he became a test pilot and flying more than 200 kinds of aircraft from gliders to jets.

From 1982 to 1992, Armstrong was chairman of Charlottesville, Va.-based Computing Technologies for Aviation Inc., a business that supplies computer information management systems for business aircraft.

Armstrong married Carol Knight in 1999,and they lived in Indian Hill, a Cincinnati suburb. He had two adult sons from his previous marriage.

A statement of his family on Saturday that designed a simple request for anyone that desired to remember him.

"Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."

Spurs rally to beat Thunder in NBA's West finals

Manu Ginobili scored 26 points and the San Antonio Spurs turned it on in the fourth quarter to beat Oklahoma City 101-98 in the first game of the NBA Western Conference Finals.
The Spurs stretched their winning streak to 19 games and moved one game closer to booking their berth in the NBA Finals.


The winner of this best-of-seven series will face either the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics for the NBA title. San Antonio host game two on Tuesday.


The Spurs trailed by nine points going into the fourth quarter, when they turned the tables and out-scored the Thunder 39-27.

Boxer Johnny Tapia found dead

Five-time world boxing champion Johnny Tapia has died at his house in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Albuquerque Journal reported, citing a family source. 


According to the newspaper, Albuquerque police were called to Tapia's house on Sunday evening by a family member who found a body there.


Police spokesman Robert Gibbs told the Journal that the death did not appear suspicious and an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Hollywod actor Will Ferrell and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay were both injured representing the Rest of the World in their 3-1 defeat to England during Sunday night's Soccer Aid match.



In what was supposed to be a friendly game played between celebrities and retired professionals for charity, the 'Kitchen Nightmares' star ended up being stretchered off the field while receiving oxygen and was hospitalised following a heavy challenge by former England international Teddy Sheringham midway through the second half.

The Avengers Loses Top Box Office Spot

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The third "Men in Black" alien action comedy bumped the mighty "Avengers" from the top of movie box office charts through Sunday and was likely to dominate theatres over the rest of the U.S. Memorial Day weekend.


"MIB 3", starring Will Smith, racked up $55 million in the United States and Canada from Friday through Sunday, according to studio estimates. The movie also topped box offices in 104 countries around the world, and is expected to haul in a global $202 million over the four-day holiday weekend, distributor Sony Pictures said.
